Equestrian
Programs
Montecito Sequoia's Equestrian Center offers an abundance of
riding programs. All 16 horses on site are schooled in both
English and Western equitation. We have horses suitable for
riders of all abilities. In addition to our two riding arenas,
we offer many delightful trail rides that lead to spectacular
views of the Great Western Divide. Riding enthusiasts are welcome to spend the entire day at the
stables, learning about horses and making friends with our
resident herd.
Professional Instructors
Whether you’re learning to ride, building technique, or
roaming the mountains on one
of our guided trail rides, our five, professional riding
instructors will help you have a rewarding experience. After
all, they’re
not just teachers– all of our instructors have personally competed in
equestrian events. We often have riding instructors from
overseas as well, who bring new techniques and insights to the program.
Horse Show
Don’t miss the “Horse Whispering” demonstrations at our weekly
Horse Show. Our staff, along with their handpicked horses, will
bedazzle you with demonstrations of riding styles from around
the world! Demonstrations often include barrel racing, roping,
show jumping, dressage and much more!
Sign-Up & Fees
Montecito Sequoia’s Equestrian Programs are some of our most
popular activities. Sign-ups are taken every evening on a first-come, first-served
basis. There is a fee of $15-$30 per lesson or trail ride. The
Riding Intensive program is $90 for five sessions over three days
(see the sidebar to the right for further details.) Private
lessons are offered for $50 when instructors are available.

To ride in a ring lesson, you must be at least 8 years old.
Those who are younger may sign up for the Jr. Wranglers program
(see the sidebar to the right for further details.) For most
trail rides, you must be at least 11 years old and have
